Give student’s and educators a little extra help now to secure their ability to grow, thrive, and succeed in Murray. Murray Education Foundation offers a wide range of programs, initiatives, and campaigns you can give to.
From classroom grants and learning experiences to scholarships and capital campaigns, you are in control and can direct your funds to be used in ways that are most meaningful to you. Here are a list of current options:
Fundraisers
Murray Education Foundation conducts three annual fundraisers each year to support classroom learning experiences for students (Golf Tournament, Pinnacle Awards, and Pickleball Tournament), celebrate teachers (Pinnacle Awards), and support Murray's Unified Sports Program (Pickleball Tournament).
Golf Tournament: The Annual Golf Tournament, held in August, began in 1996 and over the years has funded thousands of classroom grants Murray teachers apply for after the tournament. Held at Murray Parkway Golf Course, the popular tournament has showcased spirited play with wonderful donated prizes to ensure each year is memorable. Go here to learn more.
Pinnacle Awards: The Annual Pinnacle Awards, held in March, began in 2004 and is Murray's top recognition, honoring five educators, one volunteer, and one Murray District staff person for their model work and leadership. Nominations are open to the entire Murray community and reviewed by a selection committee, where the winners are selected and surprised at work and honored with a special evening gala. Pickleball Tournament: New in 2025, the Foundation is conducting it's first fundraiser to support special education classroom learning experiences, and Murray's Unified Sports Program. Unified Sports is a program of Special Olympics and gives students with disabilities an opportunity to participate with traditional students on the court and field in competition with other schools. Student Scholarships
Several Murray families have setup annual scholarships for high school seniors to apply for. The criteria and focus of each is entirely directed by the donor family. Some are very involved, setting up the qualifications, identifying the criteria, receiving the applications, and choosing the recipients. Other families design their scholarship program and are as involved as they would like to be.
With MEF we put you in the driver's seat to customize a meaningful scholarship program for your family.
We also accept individual donations into the MEF scholarship program. This is a new program that MEF has seeded to get started in 2025, but that will ideally support multiple students with modest scholarship funds based on financial need, school engagement, and academic performance. More information is coming.
