Merissa Graves | Parkside Elementary
Parkside Elementary School’s Merissa Graves is implementing a rewards system to encourage positive student behavior.
Merissa is using her $500 in MEF funding to provide monthly activities students can choose to buy with the “paws” they earn for great behavior. The goal is to offer choices that will provide at least one motivating experience to all students at Parkside.
Some of these activities include creating small crafts and art projects, but also are bug-hunting containers to capture a one-day desk pet. Others include:
- Supplies to decorate sugar skulls and make pumpkin catapults
- Painting with watercolors
- Left, Right Center Games to host a tournament
- Making foam gnomes
- A chemical reaction STEM activity, and more
